An Industrial customer had to design a drilling rig which would be powered by 3 diesel generators. APS supplied (2) 100-6758 air cooled, 3200A, 3 phase rectifiers to provide the 850VDC bus required by the VFD motor drives. We also provided (2) IAP2KD17 dynamic brake choppers to limit the DC bus voltage during the descent of the drawwork motor. The rectifier and brake choppers are standard APS products.
Applied Power Systems manufactures this 18 Pulse Diode Bridge Rectifier which produces 1100 Amps DC Output for a customer's electroplating application. The semiconductor rectifiers are parallel connected with bus bars and mounted on a high performance extruded heat sink assembly which is cooled by a double inlet centrifugal blower. APS utilized its existing capabilities in advanced thermal management to quickly design and manufacture this custom assembly for the customer.

Applied Power Systems (APS) just built this 3-Phase Diode Bridge to meet the High-Power Rectification requirements of a diesel powered generator used in a traction motor application. Model # APE6D7 provides up to 1500 Amps DC output (max continuous) at 3,300 VDC. The unit has been ruggedized to withstand high shock and vibration. The customer integrates their own field-replaceable fan assembly to provide airflow to match the dimensions of our insulated frame, which directs airflow evenly across all heatsink surfaces for optimal thermal management.
